im gonna have to go with mitch hedburg, dave chappelle, and jim gaffigan......not a real big fan of dane cook he does have some good jokes though but i think he is overrated

He started out doing stand up...try to find his "Killing them softly" its freaking hillarious.

Carlos Mencia was mentioned earlier and I was a huge fan of his till I saw a video of Joe Rogan basically showing how Mencia ripped off most of his jokes from other comedians.

Chapelle did stand up LONG before he did sketch comedy... and still does stand up. He just set a record for a 6 hour stand up performance
