The dust belt, which scientists suspect is clumping together to form planets, is located in the middle of the star system's terrestrial habitable zone where temperatures are moderate enough to sustain liquid water. Scientists estimate there is enough material in the belt to form a Mars-sized world or larger.

At approximately 10 million years old, the star is just the right age for forming rocky planets, the researchers say. Their finding will be detailed in an upcoming issue of Astrophysical Journal.

Second Earth Possibly?

This seems really interesting, another planet like Earth just without all the industrial and modernized societies. Seems like a great way to start over with a new Earth, compared to this one. Let's face it, we've screwed up this planet beyond repair.

Yeah and the time perspective is just right too. If there's nothing but a cloud there right now, the planet will have materialized and cooled down enough right after we have figured out the technology to travel 424 light-years, then built the space ark, and finally made the trip. A billion years or so.:thumb02:

400 light years though huh. If we could reach 99.999999999999999% the speed of light would could probably get there in about 1 years time on earth. Not to bad at all.

nice find Kameleon...repped....i like reading about this stuff..idk its pretty interesting....however being that far away idk how we would figure out getting there....

Ok, well, back. So as you near the speed of light a couple of things happen. First off, time in a sense slows down. When 10 years pass in a ship moving the speed of light 100 or 1000 pass on earth but they are both completely accurate.

Second, as you near the speed of light distance shrinks. So at a minute fraction of the speed of light that 400 light years is considerably less.
