Joba should be good but he really is reletively untested still. He's only faced a fraction of the league so far but he should end up being good.

I hope this new coaching staff is good, I really liked Joe torre.

so it seems all baseball eyes are on Santana! i don't see how the yanks could justify giving up even kennedy and Melky for a guy they can just pay for straight up in a few more months... there's no way they can get rid of robbie, hughes, or Joba, and the other two are just as stupid a trade...

A-Rod is such an asshole that he is one of the primary reasons I don't like the yankees, never mind that they threw joe torre away like a used kleenex, never mind that I am surrounded by nuthugging yankee bandwagon jumpers here in NY. I have a short list of guys whose asses i'd cheerfully kick if I could, and a-rod is on it. Idk why he pushes my rage button, there are plenty of cocky f*ckers in professional sports. I can't help it. I see him, or russell crowe, and my brain stem yells "beat! punch! bitch slap!"

i was angry at him to, until it was released that it was his agent that leaked the news, and it was his agent that made the decisions. as soon as he realized he had followed bad advice, he contacted the yanks and did what he could to make amends!

i just don't get the a-rod hate. he pays his agent millions of dollars to think about the business side of his life, since he was 16, and not only does his agent leak news to creat controversy before anyone could even begin to bid on him, but as soon as he found out, arod agreed to a meeting without his agent, and then signs a deal that will essentially garauntee his retirement in pinstripes...

and he still get's hate on by non-yankee fans of all people...

i don't get it. i think his actions are more than enough proof that he wants to go into the hall of fame wearing a yankee uniform!

I'm LIKING that Angels scoop of Torrie Hunter. The guy can mash, and oh yeah....plays Gold Glove CF. Just what they needed. A bat to protect that BUTCHER Vladdie, and a guy in the outfield that can cover some significant ground. Let's be honest, Guerrero is a statue out there in RF, so he needs that help in center, badly. I like it.

What I don't like is...John Garland for OC? That was a STUPID move, IMO. A middle of the road pitcher, for an All-Star SS? Makes no sense. Oh well, we'll see what happens for the Halos.

I'm LIKING that lineup going into '08 though:

2B - Howie Kendrick
CF - Torii Hunter
RF - Vladimir Guerrero
DH - Garrett Anderson
LF - Gary Matthews Jr.
C - Mike Napoli
1B - Casey Kotchman
SS - Erick Aybar

That is a dangerous team, and they do it the right way. No more "we're just going to grind out 2-3 runs, and play small ball to win." Now, they've got the depth, as well as power in the lineup...so I see big things for the Halos.

Only thing I hate - them losing OC.

Yanks are going to be a force. Especially if Pettite comes back.

I mean having Pettite, Wang, Chamberlain, Hughes, and Kennedy is solid.

Plus they have a good group of young pitching prospects down there still with Alan Horne and Brackman Their 1st round pick this year who throws 100

Their line up is loaded as usual. I mean they have some of the best producers in the Majors at C, 2B, SS, and 3B. After that Matsui is solid in left, Melky and Damon do pretty good in center, and Abreu is not bad at RF.
1B is the one hole in the lineup and Duncan, Phillips, and Giambi can fit it together somehow.

They need to bring in bullpen arms. Farnsworth blows, Bruney is gone, and Chamberlain is going into the rotation. Which means they need to bring in arms. Percivial makes sense to me and there are some other guys worth looking in to.

We got Humberto Sanchez down in the minors who is coming back from tommy john and he could be good, as well as Ohlendorf who looked pretty strong at the end of last season.

I think the Yanks need to get bullpen help and the only trade I would do for Santana would be Melky, Kennedy, and Tabata. But I wouldn't give up Cano, Chamberlain, or Hughes.
