Many years ago when I was down in Mexico, there was a similar incident in the town I was in - but it killed a lot more people. On the news report, as the cops drug the guy into the cop car, he was beaten within an inch of his life, barely recognizable - I guess the rest of the cyclists had gotten to him before the cops could save him.

Nope, just across the border, which means he'll got to a maximum security jail for a few years, then get out.

Thats terrible for the cyclists, and their families.
Maybe these races need more security. Or maybe their should be a psych test component to the driving exam.

I don't know about America, but in Europe the clubs are full of coke - doesn't really lead to any problems.

My condolences go out to the families of the victims. Coke isn't to blame here though, it doesn't turn you into a reckless killing machine.
