I thought it was pretty obvious throughout most of the altercation that the cop was doing his best not to hurt her. He was increasing his actions as she was increasing hers. As soon as she got out of hand, he ended it the easiest way he could. It's not like he was getting off on hurting her, but you could tell that he was losign his patience rapidly.

We also don't know what her parents would have done to her for being arrested. She may have been more scared of being taken in, so she was trying her best to get away from the situation. Hence the pleading at the beginning. I say the cop was in the right.

Yea because being out past curfew she must have been a major threat to society, Officer Gilroy must be some type of hero.

The cop was twisting her arm back very far before she bit him. That is not how a trained police officer is supposed to restrain and cuff a suspect. Especially a suspect that can be easily overpowered. This jerk was not doing his job, he used unecessary force and was totally on a power trip.

This guy makes all the decent and reasonable people who work in law enforcement look bad. Idiots like officer Gilroy are the main reason why so many people don't feel safe when cops are around.

Unless she just committed a major crime, there was no need for the way he handled that. He should have taken her down, put his knee in her back and cuffed her just like you said above.

Watch it again it looks like she bites him on the arm thats why he punched then pepper sprayed her.

That's a pretty prejudiced attitude to assume she's black because she's too stupid to cooperate with a policeman. Just a lucky guess.

The cop was being fairly reasonable for the larger portion of the video. The punch seemed like a knee jerk reaction to being bitten, he shouldnt have done it, but it wasnt like he thought it out. She conitnued to resist, she got sprayed. Thats what happens when you act like a douche towards the police. It doesnt really matter what your being arrested for, once they start to put the cuffs on, you are probably going to jail. Let it go, dont resist or some crappy stuff will happen to you. Go to jail, bond out, then fight the charges.
