Rotten Tomatoes really sucks - (2 examples)

Anyone else go to rotten tomatoes to see if a movie is worth watching....if it's below 20% then i will almost never watch it, and if it's above 80% i'll make time to watch it....

or at least thats what i used to do....

omfg this pissed me off.....

so we have a file sharing network at my university and I dl'd a bunch of movies that were available.....i forget how many their were but 2 of the ones i grabbed were Half Nelson and Lost in Translation

Lost in Translation's RT score - 95% approved
Half Nelson RT score - 91% approved

wow were those movies completely awful. Lost in translation was a pathetic attempt to be artistic showing 2 extremely socially awkward people meeting and whining about how their life sucks ass.....Half Nelson was basically Ryan gosling pretending to act like some fcking moron on drugs and tries to make us feel sorry for him with....

Please, someone who has seen either of these movies tell me I'm right....I'm pissed that I just wasted 4 hours of my life on complete and utter artistic trash

I didn't hate Lost in Translation nearly as much as you but I certainly did not enjoy it.

maybe the movies just weren't for me.....i just thought that movies that highly ranked and that evidently won oscars were liked by almost everyone....and since i liked neither i thought something was up....

I can't really see why this means Rottentomatoes sucks. All they do is collect all reviews they can find of a movie and then count how many of them were positive. So if you don't agree with their ratings, it just means you don't agree with most movie critics.

Hehehe, no. Its the one with Scarlet Johansen and Bil Murray sort of flirting but sort of just being lonely. I don't really remember it, it was ok, 7/10 I'd say. Though then again I thought graphic novel 'the watchmen' is overated so...
