NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities say a woman who jumped to her death inside a busy New York City mall landed on a teenager, causing injuries that sent him to a hospital.

The lower level of the Queens Center Mall was packed with high school students on spring break when the woman jumped Wednesday from the third floor.

Seventeen-year-old Derrick Munoz had been sitting in a massage chair with a sign reading, "sit back and relax," when the woman landed on him.

The teen's stepbrother says Munoz was briefly knocked unconscious and has a large gash on his head.

Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown says the woman was in her early to mid-50s. She was with two teenagers before she plunged.

I dont like the idea that they called it a suicide, they don't have all the facts. Suppose she was just trying to crowd surf.

goddamn it why can't people just kill themselves in peace. gotta be all going around committing suicide on people and such, you know that poor bloke, got all hurt up and stuff. People around em probably got sprayed with some splat from her fall to, where is the courtesy? Probably made some people go home and change clothes cause no one wants to go around with someone else splatted all over em. And gas is ******* expensive, the economy is shit, we don't have enough time to be driving back in forth from the mall to the apartment much less the money. Hell, if she was a true baller she would become an organ donor then slice some arteries just outside a hospital on a cold day.

This is what I was thinking, three stories isn't very high. High enough to kill, but the kinda height more people would survive a fall from. Who trys to kill themselfs by jumping three stories?

well she was probably at the starbucks on the third floor, cuz im sure theres one on each floor, and she realized how much money she was paying for a ******* cup of coffee and for how long she had been doing it. She just couldnt take it anymore, but she had a sense of humor and saw the kid and the sign and thought, what a funny way to go and then she jumped.
