I love how now in Conservative America it's Patriotic to be un-Patriotic. An American won a prestigious award can't you just be proud and take the compliment?
I remember that anyone who opposed the Iraq invasion was labeled treasonous by Bush and his cronies.
In short:
If a white president starts an illegal war you must cheer!
If a black president wins an award you must boo!

It makes perfect sense.

If you lived in the US you would know less and less people agree with the War in Iraq. You also fail to realize that this was afer 9/11 in which the everyone was angry but also had false info.

We also booed Al Gore when he won.....

My point was that the definition of "Patriotism" seems to change depending on who is leading the country.

It's not about 'rooting for an American.' We are just wondering what actions led to him receiving the award. It seems like the award was given to Obama for the sake of giving it to a big name. I don't care who it is, that's not ok.

If he's done something that would actually warrant him getting this award, please enlighten me. I just haven't seen it.

Obama hasnt had enough time yet for"shit" to get accomplished....You cannot just erase 8 yrs of retardation in 3/4 of a year. Then again the Nobel Peace Prize is often awarded with different motives behind them.

More to the point, why is there even a "Peace Prize"? "Peace" isn't exactly a field in which you can achieve excellence in.

Only real reason that you can make an argument is what I posted in my response to Walker...and that is his diplomatic efforts to try to reach out to the middle east....

Sad though considering Obama is the one who is considering waging all out war on Afganistan......when really the problem is now Pakistan...either way how does a guy that is still behind the war and promised by the 6th month of his Presidency he would start the withdraw from Iraq get that prize?........Instead no withdraw and a new gameplan to send 40-50k more troops to Afganistan...

The Russians spent ten yrs there and left with their tails between their legs....

The thing about it as I pointed out above is that Obama is the one who wants to keep fighting the war in Afganistan even though most of the tribes that we actually have conflict with find safe harbor in Pakistan...

Either way, we are supposed to be pulling out of Iraq by now, or at least the process was supposed to start no later than 6mnths...He campained on that and were still there, plus now he wants to send more troops to Afganistan....half his administration doesnt agree....

On that alone....he doesnt deserve it....there's nothing peaceful about not honoring your word and doubling down at the same time on Afganistan....

I agree....pretty disappointed, not ready to give up on him but he needs to do the stuff he Spoke about and honor his word....and get Americans out of Iraq.....

And Afganistan and put them in Pakistan where they belong....prob is Pakistan has a nuke...so we cant just go in there and get Bin Laden....and Pakistan refuses to acknowledge he is there, even when they have been presented with proof....

Just my thoughts...
