I got this idea from the FPS thread. I didn't know what FPS meant until I read some of the posts, and Shatterproof's post made me wonder, do you fly the nerd flag? It doesn't matter if you fly it intermittently or proudly, all the time.

If so, what allows you to claim the august title of NERD?

Haha, yeah -- with pride. I was a typical trouble-causing, graph-writing (bam, tagging this page below), problem teen when i was young but happened to graduate HS just as the dot com boom got under way. Rather than going to post secondary i fell (as previously mentioned; ass backwards) into professional gaming and game journalism. Went on to work with a plethora of gaming companies, big and small before striking out on my own / with my company.

After gaming, i got into the music scene. Did official websites for and befriended most of my favourite bands and musicians (Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, Atmosphere, etc) and toured with a number of those bands up and down the west coast just for kicks, through the years.

Later, i got into more corporate work, because frankly... it pays 100x better. Now i contract to the government, oil and gas industry and healthcare/insurance industries primarily, while taking on other more interesting jobs as they come.

So all in all.. being a nerd after high school -- getting into gaming then marketing+design, has let me live life on my own terms. Happily send out an awkward highfive to nerds -- young and old -- with a dream of self dependency and self determination. nerdcore.

Well,

1. I just finished playing a computer game for about three hours
2. I have a stack of Cisco Routers and Switches right beside me
3. I have a comic book Collection.
4. I have all my Star Wars and GI Joe action figures from when I was a kid. Yes a few are on display with some of my Star Wars Legos down in my basement
5. I had a poster of Star Trek: Nemesis on my closet door( the inside not outside lol).
6. I read tons of sci fi and fantasy books.

I could probably go on with a longer list lol

When I started this thread, I thought I might have some nerd cred, but there's no way I can follow this type of nerdcore activity.

I'll just come over and play with all your action figures. I will meld the Star Wars and GI Joe universes seamlessly, because that's what DW does.
