I hope this may cheer you up as much as it did me.
I just recieved two text messages. 15 minutes apart. The first...
'I'm on a train, all the toilets are in use and I can't risk going further. 30 minutes ago I had a dodgy curry and it's trying to escape, I cannot believe how close I am to publically shitting myself'
and then, 15 minutes later...

Thanks guys, means a lot. She was a great bird and brought a lot of joy, I will miss her dearly. Captain Awesome misses his little friend.
I've decided to plan and take a vacation and leave in a month or so, been thinking of this for some weeks now.
Going to go to San Francisco, which is about a 6 hour drive from my place.
I'm going to spend 3 days there and buy a Go San Francisco Pass, which allows me to see/explore:
Academy of Science
USS Hornet
Wax Museum
Aquarium of the Bay
Golden Gate Bay Cruise
It gives me like 20 other things to see, but I'm only spending 3 days so I picked out the things I want to see/check out.
Then, I will pay extra money to take the boat out to Alcatraz and tour the island, go to the zoo, and Ripley's museum and mirriors.
Will spread it all out over 3 days, eat at the Hard Rock Cafe, just spend a lot of money and see a bunch of awesome stuff, haven't taken a trip like that since... well, I don't think I've ever taken a trip like that before.
Adding it up, including gas, hotel, food, parking, the pass and the extra attractions like Alcatraz I will tour that isn't included in the pass, it'll cost me around $500.

Sorry about your bird MC.
That reminded me of something that happened to me as a kid. I had two parakeets, and I adored those creatures, as I did all the animals. I would put their cage on the balcony wall when the warmer periods came. One day my father told me my birds escaped the cage and flew away. I was sad, but I got over it, cause it happens often(parakeet flying away).
Years later when I had grown up, my father told me the truth. He found the birds dead in his cage and he knew I was minutes, possibly seconds away from coming to the balcony to see them. He knew I would be devastated to find them dead. So, he quickly grabbed the birds and tossed them as far away as he could(We lived on 6th floor). Later I suppose he took them, and put them away in garbage.
My old man...he'd do just about anything to prevent me from being sad.
