If you need any tips on making sigs hit me up, I don't use gimp but I might be able to help anyways. Make sure you do post them in the GFX section, always nice to see new work and also you will get a lot of good pointers.

You should see mine from when I first started, pretty awful. I never used GIMP, I hear it's a watered down version of Photoshop but it's free (so is Photoshop though, wink wink).

I have a smudging tutorial here on the forum, it might translate over into GIMP if it's similar. Also, check the section it is in (tutorials), might find something useful.
