Just got a call from my Vet's Specialist, looks like my dog's liver has remained pretty stable and it may be possible to avoid surgery. Putting him on some meds for the next couple of months if his liver improves or doesn't get worse he should be able to live a normal life either on a few meds or possibly without them if his liver rebounds.
