Wouldn't (real) football be contact aswell then? Seems like going feet first in with studs to leg is more contact than running into someone with more padding than a preteen girl's bra?

I HATE watching football when someone gets like touched in the face and they go down. I'm thinking 'Aren't you guys supposed to be grown men?'. I'd be the kind of guy that goes down and shoots right back up hoping no one noticed. Messi is the only dude who doesn't go down from a tackle really.

All that said, actual contact sport is the only stuff I'd watch. Boxing/MMA/Kickboxing etc.

That would be accurate if Football (soccer) didn't wear shin pads. There is no doubting the contact in Rugby or Gridiron is far higher than Association Football and i'm with you when you say MMA, Kickboxing and Boxing are the best to watch.

Ahh yeah I forgot about shin pads. And those things are solid, so why do they go down so easily?

I wish Rugby has more money. Theres no doubt it beats American Football in the "toughness" element, but the glamous in AF is what makes it as appealing. You make an amazing and spectacular tackle in AF and you're probably getting endorsment deals by the next day, but in Rugby the shits forgotten about by tommorow.
