The finale split the viewers for sure. Personally I loved it. I loved Lost from the first second until the final one. It was the first show I became addicted to.

I remember in like the first two seasons in Ireland, Lucozade sponsored and they would put people's predictions on what it was about. They were scripted of course, but they were like "The island is purgatory, and all of them are awaiting judgement" and shit like that. The funny thing is, one of them got the ending completley right haha.
What was the story with the others and the way they floated again? And the polar bears? I never fought out most secrets. You also ahd the thing that tore down the forrest aswell. What were all of these?

That is exactly why a lot of people hated the finale. They didn't understand it. The Island wasn't purgatory, but the 'flash sideways' (like the shows flash backs and flash forwards' were a different universe (the purgatory universe) that ran parallel to the main story. The Island existed. Everything that happened, happened.
Perfect explanation...
The “flash sideways” universe introduced in season 6 was a sort of stop-over point between life and afterlife (referred to here as the “purgatory universe”).
Each person in this “purgatory universe” created a reality for themselves based on their lingering issues in life – that which they could not “let go” of. For Jack it was Daddy issues; Kate, the guilt of murder; Sawyer, the quest to find “Sawyer” and be a better man; Sayid, the unrequited love of Nadia; Charlie, looking for something “real” in his hollow life of fame, etc…
Everyone was still attached to their Earthly concerns (we’re getting very Buddhist here, bear with me) – but when they made contact with those people they’d met on the Island, they remembered the journey and growth they had experienced because of the Island, and could finally understand the connections and “purpose” brought into their damaged lives by being there. With that greater understanding of themselves, they were each ready to “leave” or “move on” to the next phase of existence – i.e., the true afterlife.

Shit I forgot the purgatory one WAS the correct prediction hahaha. What happened to "kill them" then? If everything happened up until Season 6, and then they entered the purgatory state, what happened to put them there?

The Island wasn't purgatory. During season 6, they had flashsideways rather than flashbacks/flashforwards. These sideways flashes were of a purgatory universe that the islanders experienced due to the electromagnetic energy from the island.
They all died normally, as you or I, or anyone on this forum would. But at the end due to the intense bond they had formed on the island, they were all joined together by the energy, by fate and destiny, love etc blah blah that they were waiting for them *ALL* to be dead so they could pass into the next life together, rather than leaving anyone behind (Jack's famous line 'We have to live together or we will die alone')
