Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, my external hard drive with all my music went fubar. Now I have to rip it all again. Freaking wall of CDs.

Picked up a guitar for the first time in over a year. Feels great, I was just recently thinking about selling all my gear, glad I held onto it.

I'm picking up my guitar too. Also my trumpet. And my musical saw. I feel ******* epic but I am beginning to doubt that I an play all three at once.

Mine went about a month ago.

Mostly rare stuff from my raving days that I'd downloaded but is neigh on impossible to find again.

I feel your pain bro. I had some personal stuff on there as well that will be hard to find, like demos from bands I've played with and friend's bands, stuff like that. It's even worse than when I lost some naughty pics of a girlfriend back on that fateful day in '06.

Gonna meet up with a buddy later today though. He knows his way around hardware and says he might be able to recover some or all of it.

You can freeze your HDD and get a few minutes out of it if you're lucky, but it should be a last ditch effort. I've tried this on four seperate occasions and only got results once, it worked for like seven minutes. Just enough to get the important stuff out of there

BTW, if you do decide to try it out as your last resort, do put it in a plastic bag before you freeze it and close it up tight
