Yeah it would be almost pointless to not buy a slim now....Its the next step in phasing out the older 360s

Well I got YLoD on my (almost) 4 year old PS3 a few months back, had to buy a new one... Rumor has it that Modern Warfare 2 is messing up PS3's around the world :P

I've had my xbox for 3 years now and it hasn't red ringed.. my original 360 did after 6 months but it was one of the original releases... then it did it again and i sold it, i waited until the ones with the HDMI came out and haven't had a problem since...

I am getting the Halo:Reach 360 when it comes out, i wanted a slim one and that one seems like a good idea.

It really sucks bad when the machinery dies on you... for a minute or two you really feel lost, the it turns to anger :P

Good thing I had my boards and my GF to calm me down

She told me it was hard not to laugh at me staring at the TV in disbelief :P

Yeah, and the funny thing is, it's actually more advantageous to buy a slim rather than the Elite version, because it's cheaper (or the same price, depends on the store), and it is much better as it's more quiet, smaller, cooler and has a Wi-Fi. It really is pointless to buy anything less then the slim.

P.s. I was browsing the Arcade game list the other day and boy what did I find - Doom I/II. Downloaded the trial version.. Memories!

It was like seeing your dog lay dead in the street lol.....I remember turning it off and on hoping it would be OK ...kinda like those TV shows where the Doc keeps doing CPR when the person is dead lol

Did exactly the same, and the annoying this with as PS3 that has the YLoD is that when you push the power button it turns from red to green as normally... The 4-5 seconds later the machine cuts out and the green light turns yellow, oh crap! That was so extremely frustrating, and there is just nothing you can do... You can't even retrieve the game it has eaten, it sure was a sad day

I remember a video, where a guy accidently smashed his Plasma TV , and he was so devastated that he almost went on his knees crying and knocked on the top of the TV hoping it would turn back to normal, just like when people hit the old TV's on the side when the sound went off.
