My favorite part is:

"At this competition, the Japanese gymnasts were just as small as the Chinese," the coach said. "Chinese competitors have for years all been small. It is not just this time. It is a question of race. European and American athletes are all powerful, very robust. But Chinese athletes cannot be like that. They are by nature that small."

Now go look at the Women's Chinese Volleyball team. *snicker*

Hmm they were issued by the same Chinese govt that is obsessed with winning the medal count and would bring shame upon their country if it was found out they cheated, the same govt with one of the worst labor problems (I can't think of the right words). Surely these documents are real and not fraudulent

The same goverment that had a congressional hearing to decide that a child was to ugly for TV, yeah I think they'd do this shit.

what we are acting like is that China cheated.

We've cheated too. How many western athletes have been tested positive for steroids? I'm just as hard on them.

Breaking rules is never acceptable for me. It's ESPECIALLY not acceptable when it's not just the athlete but the government is involved in breaking those rules.

Personally I've really been only following this story from this forum and the amusing arguments that it has sparked. I posted the link because it was on my MSN site- when it comes right down to it I couldn't give 2 sh!ts about which little wearing too much make-up pre-teen tart gets the gold.

I can't follow baseball, there are no big fights this weekend, football hasn't started yet and I have to wait until late tonight to watch Argentina beat up on Nigeria.
