Calling someone a douche counts as insulting other members, something that is infraction/warning worthy.

Yes of course I do. Just as I hope you realize grouping me with a bunch of "drunk drivers" (because I wasn't) is unfair. One thing we don't know and never will is how many people on the road at any given time are legally drunk. So, to say they are completely false is incorrect. But they probably are.

I love that too. Twice of nothing is still nothing though.

BTW, I clearly understand statistics. Though I never took the class. I have advanced math skills. 35 on ACT and 1510 on SAT in that category. Not to mention 3.89 GPA in college in math and science classes.
I was speaking to the fact that because I drive 1000's of times longer with no alcohol in my system. I am way more likely to kill someone then. Regardless of what you, the government, or some doctors believe. Statiscally speaking I am correct. Not that it is a higher percentage but more time exist under those conditions making the percentage of time greater.

MJB, a girl that I work with told me that the cops shine the light in your eyes to see what your pupils do when you are following the finger. Her husband is a K-9 cop and told her that the left pupil (when looking right) and the right pupil (when looking left) will twitch.
That apparently didn't happen with me. He knew I was not drunk and went straight to his breadwinner. I got lucky, yes. But that doesn't change my feelings about the subject. I never get behind the wheel when I feel intoxicated. That is a no-brainer. I now know that legal intoxication is way lower then I thought it was.
Sterling was correct to assume that I had not eaten anything. I just had 1.75 beers and 2 cocktails in a little under 4 hours. About 4.5 hours when I actually got road tested.

I wonder if my cousin, age 19, serving 20 years in prison, for T-boning a car in a cross roads, killing the mother and hurting the bay with a blood alcohol level of .09, would agree with you.
Maybe watching this video would make you think twice before driving behind a wheel while having alcohol in your body...

Too bad your stats don't include people who don't die due to drunking driving....
EDIT: In the U.S. in 2003, over 500,00 people were injured due to alcohol related incidents and in 2006, 17,941 people died in alcoholo related collisions accounting for 41% of total traffic deaths.

I know you didn't blow above the legal level, but since it's the law, just don't drink and drive. Drink, stay the night somewhere or eat and wait awhile.

Sorry to hear about that family and your cousin's circumstance. But I am sure there were more factors in play then just a .09 BAC. The law and many other seem to ignore this fact.
If it weren't debatable then defense attorney that deal with it would not make as much money as they do.
Thanks for the lectures. Let me know when your high horses are tied to the barn and you are sfely removed from them.

Actually, he was over the blood alcohol level and came to a 2 way stop in a cross roads. He was suppose to stop, be he went into the left lane to pass 2 cars stopped at the sign, then t-boned a car.
Not sure what other factors there would be in there besides the fact he was under the influence and knowing him, would never do that sober.
Also, Those lectures are a 72 page study that if you clicked on the link of those stats, you would know.
Also, maybe you should watch that video of the lady who is burned from the face down and did not die from the crash.
Those links that I provided above should be watch by you... Might open your mind a little bit on driving while having Alcohol in your blood.

Can we stop this flamefest already? It's so annoying because you all are on such high horses for no reason. Let it go.

I didn't know that the USA had roadside breath testing. When did they bring that in?
But yeah in Australia 0.05 to 0.08 is low range, 0.08 to 0.15 is middle range and 0.15 + is high range. The penalties get more harsh the higher you blow.
But I agree that it is an extremely arbitrary measure of an individuals ability to drive. I feel that I could drive at 0.15 better than a lot of old people or inexperienced drivers who haven't been drinking.
I think it is wrong to call everyone who drink drives irresponsible. I know my car, the roads, and my tolerance for alcohol so I believe I can approach "drink driving" in a responsible way.
I think the biggest danger with "drink driving" is that people can enter a vehicle with a party attitude. When you have intoxicated passengers distracting you and a careless attitude is when you are likely to have an accident.

Does calling someone dumb count as an insult?
