Bad accident last night
I was driving my girl and myself back from Seattle last night and we hit a windy patch of I-5 with a lot of standing water. Hydroplaned, lost control of the vehicle, and spun out, impacting the center barrier twice and completely totalling the car. Somehow she and I survived with only minor bruises, her laptop and giant camera even made it through.
But it was extremely scary and a serious wakeup call. Be careful people, and be thankful for every minute you are alive and well because that minute could be the last.

Glad to hear you're okay man. I know, scary moments like that put your life in perspective. But, a car is a car, you'll make it through this. Insurance is going to help you out right fam?

Unfortunately no, it was the lady's car and she had let her insurance lapse. So it's a total wash there. I'm gonna help her buy another since I was the one at the wheel during the accident.

she is currently sleeping the day away she was freaking out like crazy last night, but we have a very good support network and our friends cheered her right up.
She has some shoulder pain and is going to the doctor about it just in case, since she has a history of shoulder problems on that side. I somehow jammed my hand and its fairly swollen with bluish marks starting to form around my first two knucles, and I hit my head somehow (can't remember exactly, probably on the steering wheel during the second impact) and have a little goose egg, but overall I think I got the better of the deal in terms of injury.

Damn, Hex... I am very glad to hear that you are both okay. Things can go so wrong in a vehicle in just an instant. God Bless and a very speedy recovery to you both.

It's just a car, as someone wise once said to me on here.
Everybody is very relieved that you and your woman are OK, and I'm sure you'll both bounce back quickly, physically and emotionally.
