I've heard from some people--I think WL2FU was a big proponent of this, or at least was interested in it--that lucid dreaming is a big to-do. Personally, I'd rather just eat the sugar cube!

These were all done in labs and colleges??? What proffesor reversed a pair of binoculars and said he felt less pain. A scientist cut ping pong balls in half and taped them to his eyes?? Dont get me started on perkinje lights. If a dean walked in on his proffesor sitting down with his eyes closed and waving his hand in front of his face rapidly he would be highly questioned then possibly fired. This is why science funding gets cut. I bet this study cost like 5 billion dollars or some crap.

you ever hear some of the sh!t spewed by Professors?? and they keep jobs!!!! the "College System" is soo ******* broke right now (not monitarily cuz thats all its about now)..... its pathetic..... college is soo bullshit right now. hell even Penn n Teller did a "Bullshit" episode on Showtime about College in America today.... it sucks!!!

Thats why I am glad I went to community college, cheap and right to the point. I thank public high school for having alot of drugs around so I didnt have to come to school with ping pong balls on my face.

Going to high school in a small college town at the end of the (relatively) permissive 80s = bigger recreational substance win than you could ever imagine. I don't think any of the inventive methods in the initial post would do anything for someone like me.

Its not like they just randomly did this shit.. All this stuff has to do with how the brain works, which is obviously being studied. They had theories about some stuff, and used methods like this to test it. So basically well studying something very important with endless possibilities for the future (the brain), they figured out some neat stuff... Whats the problem?? You act like they sit there all day trying to figure out ways to trick their brains with optical illusions.
