So I'm out to dinner and my nextdoor neighbors (I didn't know they were my neighbors, my ma told me....we're really a close community) and he tells me his kid just came from MMA classes. I told him that was awesome and we started talking about MMA and we're talking about Anderson Silva and how he's also a black belt in BJJ. Here's the fun part...the dude then asks me if I know Fedor and I just rip off his pants and do him on the table. Then the ******* bartender gets in on the conversation...it was ******* fantastic. I even brought up Pride (not that kind) and he knew what it was! ******* sick neighbors!

Awhile back at Bestbuy I got mixed results(when buying UFC/PRIDE DVDS)- first time- the register told me about how a friend of his was doing "UFC training". I said "wtf?, is he doing MMA training?"- pimply register guy- "What's MMA?"

2nd time- another register guy asks if I'm into MMA and I said yes and then he asked if I saw Fedor kick the crap out of Sylvia and how badass Fedor was since he had followed him in PRIDE- I almost lost my man card and hugged him.

I actually did meet him once, he gave me this drink he said was like Gatorade and it really helped him in his training. I felt used after drinking it.

I would say 1 out of every 20 people I meet actually know what UFC and MMA stand for and what the differences are, which isn't that hard to understand.

What gets me though is that when I go to the local bars to watch events, the people there watching them couldn't even tell you what they are. I was calling around to see what bars were going to play this last Strikeforce, and I actually had to say "UFC style fighting" on a couple occasions to dumb down my lingo...
