C-c-c-c-comic Book Thread!!!
So, it's recently been brought to my attention that I'm not the only person here who enjoys reading comics. I'm more of a graphic novel/indie comics type of guy because I like darker stuff, but I love me some Batman, too. Currently reading The Walking Dead (if you haven't DO IT NOW!), Preacher and going to start Ex Machina in the next few days. So what are your favorites/recommendations/most hated comics? DISCUSS!

I'm with ya, will try that one you are talking about. I liked Sandman and the Defenders, still like the Sword and Kickass, not to mention anything with that mendicant Groo.

I love my Ghost story and WWII themed Comics from the 70's and 60's. They are fantastic. they aren't worth a lot of money, but anytime you can sit down with The HAunted Tank or any Weird Tales...I love it!
Quick search of Haunted tank just revealed to me that I think they are still making it with a modern tank! I may have to check that out!!

I'm a stereotypical comic book geek. Superman, Spiderman, Batman, The Flash, Ironman has me excited like a kid in a comic shop...
Wish I could afford a gigantic collection but I make do

I used to have about 40gb worth of comics until my external HDD crashed :\
I like some super hero comics, but I generally don't like the bright, cheery ones :\ Civil War was really good. If you haven't read it Kry, I highly suggest you get Red Son (Alternate universe where Superman is a commie >.<). I like stuff like Cable & Deadpool, The Punisher MAX (the way the Punisher was MEANT to be, highly violent with tons of gore and cursing) and more off beat takes of super heroes like Batman: Year Zero and stuff. I love when writers take heroes and put them in situations where they usually aren't and it's not just about fighting crime and saving the girl :\

12 1/2 longboxes and still going.
now days i stay away from the main stream; just Daredevil & Runaways for Marvel, Teen Titans for DC, everything else is indy stuff (Echo is the bestest).
however, i've jumped on the Deadpool Bandwagon recently, so i've been reading all three monthly issues of that now too.
i gotta say it cause i'm the only one; i do not like Walking Dead..... but then again i don't like zombie stuff that's not Shaun of the Dead or Zombieland, so it's not really for me.

One thing I liked about my last job at a bookstore was reading comics everyday during lunch. I have been out of the loop for about a year now.
One of my best friends when I was a teenager has an older brother that was drawing for Marvel at that time. Tony Daniel is his name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Daniel

I like the walking dead because it's story driven. It's not even so much about the zombies anymore, I hardly notice them. Also, I just finished #70... now I have to quit reading for another year because I HATE monthly issues of serial comics -.- It's like waiting for the new episode of Lost but a month per episode...

I actually never took much interest in comics but this discussion has gotten me hype. Any comic suggestions?
