Products of our environment
So I just spent the last hour and a half cleaning my house and listening to/singing to music I had playing full blast. About midway through the dishes I realized this is what my dad always did when he was cleaning the house. Funny how that happens eh? haha
Anyone else got some stories about little quirks you got from growing up or something you do that your parents always did?

I am a compulsive map-reader, and I like to find sneaky ninja back routes to everywhere I can.
I also like looking at how various natural forces have shaped the terrain; particularly fascinating in an area full of glacier-created lakes, hills and valleys.
Both are courtesy of my dad. From my mom, I get my eye for line, form, and color, and worrying a lot.

Nothing I really notice but me and the wife took a trip with my parents last summer and my wife laughed her ass off and said me and my dad have a lot of the same mannerisms.

I'm so much like my dad we almost look like twins, only he is older by 27 years.....
We look alike, have the same sense of humor, like getting f#cked up, like the same colors, enjoy the same sports, I could go on and on......
My dad passed away back in 2002 and my sister says every time she sees me she gets the chills at first because I look so much like my dad.

My mom made me garden as a boy, I had no interest in it at all.
Now, at 22 I am a certified, licensed horticulturist.

I have a lot more mom in me than my dad. Although I did gain joy of "the drink" from him. He was an ego-maniac, a big man, with a short temper and more street fights than myself. He hit me when I was a kid, I will never touch my children in anger there is no excuse. Well now that I think of it... me and my dad are almost exactly alike. I don't have his anger or rage... on those I love anyways, I realize...

Not so much something my parents did but strange non the less.
When im at work (i work for Sainsburys) i think i see someone i recognise from a distance, but when i see them closer it isnt them. Then within a couple of hours the person who i thought it was comes into store.. Happens all the time and is quite freaky.

There's nothing like that in me, thankfully.
I left my "environment" when I was 16, and never even thought of looking back.
