Metallica.
May sound a bit 'mainstream', but I've been listening to the band for years, and they are what brought me to the genre.
I was at their concert 2 days ago and it was awesome.

Hey there's nothing wrong with HIM, when they are actually good! I saw them once live and they sounded like a screaming engine and a yelpiong dog all at once...that kinda ruined them for me.
