Just a reminder, they held hearings today to kill the internet for us in America, land of the free. Might want to send a letter/email out to your rep before it's to late.

This may roughly be the most anti-freedom bit of legislation since the patriot act. I do love my country but I'd be lying if I said I hold no disdain for it's government.

I sent a petition and letter some weeks back via that website. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting against crap like this. It is not a scam or spam or anything like that, so send the petition.

This is just another case of big business lobbyists bribing congress (this all started by movie and music industry asking for this bill to pass) to get what they want, regardless of anyone else "rights" and "freedoms". Always nice when congress takes bribes from big business to push their acts that go against American "rights".

It really shows you who is actually running this country.

Its a losing battle chaps. You might be able to delay it, but this will inevitably happen eventually. There is far too much serious money being made online for them to leave it in its current mad-max state.

Ive been saying for years that you *can* stop the internet. People who think you cant are naive.

I have a fun fact :) the "stop internet privacy act" or SOPA as it is called, translated to Swedish SOPA means "garbage" lol.

Also as long as these things only affect certain countrys it's easy to go around. Just pay 5$ a month for a VPN in any liberal country and get all the internet contents you want.

Hopefully tho this shit never goes through, what kind of world are we heading towards? not one I want to be part of anyway.

They tried to pass a similar bill and it failed, this one will too.
