Welcome to the Forum!

I usually have hand wraps to go underneath my boxing gloves. It helps protect your knuckles a bit more as well as giving your wrist a bit more support.

Also some schools may require that you where a gi in the BJJ class. I know my school will sell me one or I can go out and get my own. I just have to have their patch on my gi.

rashguards arn't nessacery.. i just wear a tshirt when i grapple, or if im getting into it the shirt comes off (i like hearing everyone cry when my hairy sweaty body lands on top of them)...

I'd say hold off on alot of it until you go check out a gym, most places will have some loaner gear you can use if you don't have your own. that way you can see what is used alot and just buy that equipment.

Dont get big eyed and start buying every TAPOUT thing you see ...like you said your on a limit....I would start with hand wraps, mouth guard, and cup....then go in and see what they offer...Some places require a Gi Likt HotorGetHit said...but others ..like my gym offer no Gi classes so thats something to think about....Just go in and ask they wont think your stupid for asking...If anything it will be better ..."Hey look at the new guy with all that shits he dont need BAHAHAHA".... Yeah, the first thing you should do, is to go to the gym, check out how is it in there. You would dfinitely need a mouth guard, a cup and some hand wraps at the beginning though. My class provides the else, but personal boxing gloves are still recommended for us.

Yeah I waited a bit as well before got my own stuff. MY gym let me use their stuff for awhile until I was able to get my own gear so I got to see exactly what I need.

Also, I know some people that use a rash guard, but I always just use a T-shirt like Grizzly said. But I have seen some people that wear things like under armor. It is personal preference.

This is going to sound dumb, but liquid bandage. And a few refreezable ice packs. And sore muscle rub.

The sore muscle rub will work wonders! A lot of people use Icy-Hot but I prefer biofreeze.
