I know its a dumb question for all you MMA veterans but Im just wondering is strangling allowed in the UFC.

AS in, say someone is in a full mount position and they just put their hands round their oppenents throat and started strangling them.. Is this allowed???

Its just another less safer version of a choke hold after all. (isn't it?)

Or how about grabbing their windpipe with your hand and squeezing it.. Or is that too dangerous??

These dumb questions have been bugging me for years

so I thought I would bite the bullet and ask you guys.

I'm pretty sure a normal choke is fine, but squeezing the trachea is not allowed.

That particular choke is too easy to counter.

As long as you don't crush the trachea it's cool.

I dont know if theres a rule against it......I mean I dont think Ive ever seen the sterotypical "****" choke you always see in movies....Ive seen ppl put one hand on the throat and punch......I think you would be asking to get swept if you tried to do a double hand choke lol
