Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

What do I wear under my GI? and this will be my first full class. Also is there anything you should avoid eating before going?

Are you male or femależ Men mostly wear nothing apart from their usual underpants, but a t-shirt or rash guard is fine and may protect from skin abrasion. Women usually wear a t-shirt or a rash guard out of obvious reasons. Whether there is need for a sports bra is up to personal consideration.

Edit: As you've asked. As it's a sport were you get very close to your trainingpartner, you should avoid to eat anything that is culturally considered as smelling bad. That depends on were you live. In many countries i.e. the odour after eating meals containing garlic isn't very appreciated. And in general you shouldn't eat in the two hours before training at all, as hard training with a full stomach may make you feel real sick.

you should eat as many beans and garlic as possible.

Wear nothing under and don't shower, also eat lots of garlic.

It will give you the competitive edge by stinking the opponents senses! :sarcastic12:

Dont mind the dumb post's. You need a t-shirt or rashguard under and wear shorts under your pants. If im in your guard the last thing i want is my head in your hairy chest.

i used to wear nothing under my gi but got a funky rash so i bought a rashguard. I only wear tight GSP like shorts under my pants and i also wear knee braces. Dont underestimate a mouth guard or knee braces, ive been kneed in my face a few times but thankfully didnt lose teeth but i have banged up my knee nicely so i started wearing knee brace all the time.
