Ethics In MMA Training

I recently started training MMA. I have been doing BJJ for quite a while now, about a year, and I am pretty good. Some of the guys I train MMA with aren't as good at BJJ as me, and I have the opportunity to tap them out pretty regularly; even the advanced ones. There is one guy at the gym that was a contender in the largest MMA organization in the world and I feel like I could tap him pretty much whenever I want. My question is, should I tap him and risk humiliating him by getting tapped by a rookie? or just keep not tapping him and just know that I could have?

That's not really an ethics question. I thought you were going to post about using roids or not. Yes you should tap him. It'd be less ethical to let someone think he's good when he's not.

Maybe its because I'm an old guy and not very competitive anymore, but I look at training as a way to help each other get better rather than a competition to see who is better.

Maybe the guys you're working out with need to learn to stay out of your strength. In any case work your game and don't worry their ego. That's their problem. If you're that good and they're smart, they will pick your brain to better their game.

As the others have said, go ahead and tap him. You shouldn't lower your game so that you don't " humilate " him. If anything he should recognise your talents and in the end it will not only him his game but also yours as he will need to work harder against you.
