Some information would be nice =D
Sorry if this is in the wrong section or has been answered millions of times (as I'm sure it has).
I'm looking to get into MMA and am looking for my first few steps. I'm 20 years old, relatively fit compared to most people, and extremely dedicated/motivated. I live in the Boston area and am a college student. Because of this, I'm starting to realize it might be increasingly difficult to start now while I'm in school. Most of the beginner classes occur when I have class, and a lot of gyms don't even offer basic MMA!
My question then is, is anyone in the area that knows of a good gym to start. Also, would I be better off starting with a different form of martial arts?
Don't worry about basic mma classes just attend the classes you can. They won't throw you at the sharks. Since, you're in college your university should have a boxing, judo or wrestling team. You should be able to join judo/boxing without issue. But you will not be allowed for wrestling. Ask the coach if you can train with the team.
there are mma fighters with a primary discipline that does well in MMA. And there are others who just trains MMA and does well. Up to you.
