90% of UFC fighters use steroids?

I see people throwing this number around all the time now like its a proven fact. Didnt 5 out of 6 guys just pass a random drug test, which would be an impossible anamoly if 90% of fighters were using?

So lets hear it people who believe this...name the sources for this 90% number. I hope they are sources other than @FrontRowBrian or some retired MMA minor league fighter's friend who saw GSP juicing in a McDonalds bathroom.

I never heard of the 90% juicing... I have heard "alot of fighters cycle roids" and "alot of fighters are on TRT"

thats it.

Just because someone don't get caught don't mean they are not using something, just because they are not huge does not mean they are not using something, with that said I am so over all this steroid shit, I'm soooooo sick of hearing about it, im to the point where its like let them juice all they want, at least then it's fair for everyone.

Ive heard it all, yet all we actually know is that out of hundreds of tests only a few have come back abnormal (Chael, Overeem, Sherk, etc).

This is just something that mid tier fighters like Krystof Sosynzki have said to cope with the fact they are indeed mid level.

90 Percent of fighters don't juice in this sport, if they do, it's not the Heavyweights. But I still think the fact that they randomly drug tested six guys, five of them passed(although Bigfoot has failed in the past) debunks this myth.

That said, maybe the Heavyweights don't need to take stuff, of course Alistair came up from 205 so it's different I still don't believe 90 percent of fighters juice, that's outrageous especially considering MMA has so many vegans in it who are very careful about what they put into their bodies like the Diaz brothers, Jake Shields, Jon Fitch and others.

True, but the fact that they HAVE caught big name people means that the system does somewhat work because nobody is safe. Whoever IS abusing steroids and getting away with it is playing a very risky game. You have got to admit that the number of fighters willing to walk that line will be pretty small.

I wouldn't vouch for how many are actively doing them, but I'd guess that about 70% have done PEDs at some point in their career.

It isn't risky at all with the methods of testing that MMA uses (no random tests). I have no idea what the true number is but it could easily have been 90% given how easy it is to cycle properly when you know exactly when the tests are. Now that some commissions are finally introducing random testing that will increase the chance of getting caught for those who are using. However, until all governing bodies in MMA are consistently doing random out of competition testing it will continue to be easy to use PED's and not get caught.

Maybe a few, Im sure Palhares, yes the guy who looks like he's from Fantastic Four. He's a monster.

As mentioned I think the idea is that even if someone doesn't get caught it's possible they're just better at cycling. And then there's the fact that if someone properly reports need for TRT then they won't get in trouble (Rampage, Dan Henderson, Nate Marquardt, Chael Sonnen to name a few big ones) even though it's a little shady to many fans. A few years back I liked to believe everyone was clean and that using PED's was an anomaly; I don't feel like that any more.
