Manny Pacman VS Jose Aldo who wins the stand up war?
Pac man used to do Muay Thai you often see him using muay thai blocks in the boxing ring, he also has shown interrest in moving into MMA, and most people think he would make the cross over better than most other regular boxers due to that background his speed foot work and because he is a southpaw.
Jose Aldos punches arnt that great even by MMA standards due not to lack of innate punching ability but due to imo a lack of crisp western boxing technique, they are slappy largely from the waist and all over the place but his kicks are lethal as are his knees.
He dosnt grapple much so I presume this fight would stay standing.
Who would win there and how?
Manny would have had a few warm up fights and camps to make the transition.

Jose would win standing. Easily. His muay Thai is just on a legendary level. Surely pacmans boxing is better but the gap between their muay Thai is MUCH bigger then the gap between their boxing. And one thing you failed to mention is how good his footwork/head movement is. Watch his fight with hominick.

Pacquiao by KO in about 30 seconds. If Aldo decides to take him down then he'll probably win by submission but if Aldo kept it standing he'd easily be KOed pretty quickly.

Aldo wins!!!
There is no shot.. If it is a full MMA fight no matter the level of boxing or thai boxing, Aldo would be able to take him down and sub him.... look at Tony and Henderson

Really? As good as footwork and head movement is, Paccy would school him in a stand up bout.

Oh yeah, after all, Aldo leg kicks wouldn't play any role in this match up, right?

Of course! But Paccy would only need 1 shot to set up the ending. In a MMA contest, yes Jose would win easily, but Paccy would win handily if it was a stand-up fight.

Pacman is quick, accurate and has some pretty damn impressive power...Aldo wouldn't have a chance to fire off on him.

Take the legs of the boxer and he won't be a boxer no more. It's all about distance, IMO. Even if they fight standing, Aldo is smart enough to realize he can't get close until those legs are useless just like Faber's. If he tries to box only, agree, short night.

Indeed, this theoretical fight would disintagrate once leg kicks are involved. I just think that Paccy is talented enough to use his footwork to his advantage and avoid the kicks.A stand-up fight would last less than 1 round. With paccy the winner.
