probable has happen before, with some of the fighters only making 6-12k, but i can't pin point to many fights.
I kinda felt like meathead threw his last fight, after he gets knocked down, he looks up to the camera and you can see in his eyes he's fully aware of his suroundings, and he's takin hard shots like that before like nothing. but instead of defending he just curls up after looking up at the camera, and the gets up smiling from ear to ear and shaking hands with roy...he either purposly threw that fight, or he just has zero heart. and i was a meathead fan, but that last fight was suspect....felt like he threw that fight, but he's too stupid to pull it off good.

Meathead definitely doesn't have a big fighter's spirit. He's already spoken multiple times to the sort of fears he has towards brain damage, he even said he felt he was already suffering from minor damage from his NFL career.
Secondly, he's not really a good fighter, and that was pretty obvious against Cheick Kongo.
Although Im not sure why Im even bothering. He was clearly out either way.

i agree with all this, and his lack of fighter spirit and overall stupidity and being friends with roy, is some of teh reasons i believe if anyone would throw a fight it would be someone like him....but either way, if he threw it for money or he just gave it up for free, he lost a fan in myself in that fight. maybe after his lost to kongo and he's fear of brain damage, he feels like he needs to make as much money as he can anyway he can before he's done.

Yeah but I don't understand your point.
There's a big difference between quitting in a fight and throwing a fight.
Throwing a fight implies that he made no effort to win.
He clearly was hurt by those punches and then just turtled. It's nothing we haven't seen a million times before. He's just one of those fighters that would rather get stopped or tap out before he gets KO'd.
GSP is the exact same...I wouldn't say he "threw" the first fight against Matt Serra.

Anthony Johnson vs Vitor Belfort is the closest fight I've seen to a fix in the UFC, though I still don't think it was one

If we're talking fixed fights, I'm surprised Bob Sapp hasn't come up yet. Ariel Helwani got him to all but confess to throwing every fight he's had in the past couple years. Can't find the video. If someone can, that'd be great.

Dude, bet guy, at least one person from your suggestions is not taking falls. He is getting caught leaving his guard down right after throwing an ineffective kick, and that isn't a good way to fight when your chin's not what it used to be.
