At least Maia really tried hard for the submission, so it was Fitch strength that he only got fitched and not subbed

In Overeem's case I thought it was more his cockyness that got "karmaed". He didn't respect Silva's striking at all, got all cocky not only before the fight, but also in the fight and paid the price.
