Forrest is often time too content to lay in his guard and that's what Sonnen wants. Chale would rough him up from inside Forrest's guard and win a lopsided decision.

Yeah but Chael could also get sub'd from his guard just like last time. Chael is very submittable and Forrest has rolled him up before and could do it again. Drysdal JJ.

When was the last time Forrest even got close to subbing someone? Also Chael is training with Vinny magazines now.

When was the last time Forrest had to fight off his back vs a guy with poor sub defense? Forrest is a massive LHW and I don't think Chael could take and keep him down. Forrest grappling might not be on display very often but it's legit.

I think Forrest vs Sonnen would be good matchmaking myself. Obviously Bones vs Sonnen isn't good matchmaking, it's cheap marketing. I think Forrest is overrated, today, not so much in general but him now in 2013. He's old, slow, injured and his head has not seemed in it. But he is a HW 205 fighter and has solid tools. Sonnen could probably take him I think, but in terms of where they are, especially Sonnen not having actually fought at 205 an a very long time, it would make sense from an MMA perspective to of had the fight happen.

Actually I agree. Chael vs. Forrest when Chael loses would be fair. Not a guy that would send him into next week. But a name, and a challenge.

But I think Chael goes into announcing/analyst work after this next fight.
