No I dont agree, ESPN started as a spots network not a talk show network, I could give a **** less what he thinks of the sport it's still a sport and his job should not be to interject whether its viable or not obviously it is.

I get tired of them scraping the bottom of the barrel to try and do everything they can to save a sport like boxing, pulling out all the stops to try and hope and pray it gets interesting and exciting and at the same time condemning another sport because "they dont like it" well too ******* bad asshole Im the consumer not you! I want to know about this sport and what’s going on with it and who's doing what.

Whatever happened to just doing your job, you know reporting the sporting news? I don’t want his opinion of the sport Ill decide that myself thanks. Really, its time for another sports network to step up and take on ESPN and I think they could win if they started just covering MMA and REPORTING the news not making it up based on there opinion of the sport itself.

P.S. **** ESPN and there their “WE decide what’s a sport and what you watch” attitude like they are "above" there viewers

About Jay's statement

...I understand everybody has an opinion. But the sports world has an obligation to live up too. They need to support ALL recognized sports. Thx for the feedback fellas but I wonder why the UFC made the cover of Sports Illustrated? Fastest growing sport in America? Just thought he have would supported something ESPN didas well.

Seriously you really shouldn't care what he says. He has his own opinion, and if he doesn't like it so what. I do agree he is an idiot, but this comment really doesn't have any effect on my opinion.

The problem with sports journalism these days, particularly on radio and TV, is that so much of the programming consists of guys like Jay spouting their own opinions, instead of covering what's happening. There's no separation between news and editorial coverage, because these guys are more interested in getting themselves over and providing "entertainment." They're trying to get a rise out of people, just like Mike Freeman was when he referred to a UFC as the "Ultimate Farcical Clown League" and then printed all of the most vulgar and ignorant e-mails he received in response. It's just shock-jocking, plain and simple, and I for one get really tired of it. I wish these guys would just let the popularity of a sport dictate how much coverage they give it and educate themselves a little better so that they don't sound like morons when it comes time to do an interview, instead of focusing on shouting down dissenting callers on phone-in shows. But I suppose that's too much to ask.
