All jokes aside, if a fighter had a mild developmental disability but all the faculties he needed to train well and fight well, I couldn't see the harm. But putting someone with a severe handicap in an MMA ring sounds like something out of the dark ages.

also, what about in mad max "beyond thunderdome" ? blaster clearly illustrated that some one with disabilities could dominate in cage fighting, until mad max blows his dog whistle and smacks them in the head with a giant maul...
