i think the real question first is, how would it do against another striker.

Also, like some1 mentionned, it depends on the person.. very few WC practitionners actually have that short range strength it requires to have effective strikes.. else u just look like a retard..

The problem is that WC is so much more complicated than, for example, Muay Thai. Very few people at the age of 25 can master enough to actually be in an MMA fight, and thats the WC part only, im not even talking about the other stuff he needs to learn.

Muay Thai, on the other hand, is fairly simple, and effective at any level. Its the main reason why its so popular, its easy(easy being a relative term) and effective right at the beggining.

Id like to see a WC vs MT video if any1 has one.. and no i dont want to see a little chineese dude thinking hes doing WC but hes blindly throwing hands in front of him.

I disagree that a person with one discipline could not dominate in MMA.

When it comes to Wing Chun there is some controversy about Traditional (If there is such a thing) or "Modified" and which is the "Real" version. I bring this up because there is different disciplines that have developed.

As we know Wing Chun works on the principles of the least work to get the job done. Bruce Lee talked about how there was a lack of proper "Fighting Stamina" in the style.

The reason I believe that a person knowing Wing Chun alone could be successful is:
1.) Efficiency of the style
2.) Trained to fight based on touch, not site
3.) Bil Jee Form - This form not only involves the deadly killing and maiming technics but also technics to get out of situations were you have been taking off center or to the ground. (Bone Breaking technics etc.)
4.) My final reason is the substance of the short punch. Wing Chun trains bone breaking power at a short few inch's. Often times when a person goes down to a grappler there is moments if he were trained he could drop a short punch that would devastate his opponent.

Anyway opinions vary and until we see a Wing Chun master in UFC we will never know how well they would do.

Easy answer: NO. The UFC is MMA. MIXED Martial Arts, noticed I emphasized mixed. So that Wing Chun master could be fighting someone who is not only a fellow master of Wing Chun but always Muay Thai, Jui Jitsu, Wrestling and Boxing...so simply put, someone who is one demensional would get destroyed in the UFC.
