I am so tired of hearing how great this guy is. I don't care about all the Fedor love that gets passed around, because even though I am not as in love with the guy as most people are, he has at least EARNED his respect. BJ Penn has an MMA record of less than 75% wins and is NOT as good as people make him out to be. I swear, every single thread that gets created mentioning ANY two LW or WW fighters always has BJ Penn's name thrown in there, and describes how easily he would run through them and win the title. HE IS NOT A GOD! Sean Sherk, steroids or not, would beat him. GSP would beat him. I'm pretty sure Matt Hughes would beat him (again). He isn't unbeatable, he is not a god, can we PLEASE leave this guy out of at least 1 LW thread on these boards.

Sorry to go on like that but damn! This is the only real place I could post this, the Smacktalk forum and (hopefully, seeing as that's the point of this forum) avoid all the neg reps. Respond or not, that's not the point of this thread. I just want my thoughts on this to be PERFECTLY clear for future discussions.

every time someone has a win the forum is flooded with their name so no offense just get used to it. Penn has always had a strong following especially when he decides to actually try seaming like he wants to train and get in shape for fights again.

I don't really see why it was necessary for you to inform us that you hate a particular fighter but oh well.

Penn is a great fighter when he chooses to be one and right now it seams that it is his choice to be one so be prepared for alot of talk about Penn sorry to inform u of this

Also again please take no offense to this but you are just another poster making a thread about bj penn

I kinda agree with you, but its like the previous poster said, this happens to everyone. Do you think everyone will have sigs and avatars of Rampage when he loses to Hendo? Nope, they will probably change to Henderson pics. It is like how a lot of people state, "Your only as good as your last win". This BJ nuthuggin will soon end, and then it will become someone else. Just get use to it

This is what scares me. All of this was going on even before he beat Pulver. Since the day I joined the forum, Penn and Fedor are constantly raved about. It's just mind-boggling with BJ.

Just because you can does not mean you should

People have different taste in fighters just because you do not like some one does not mean that others have to follow your lead. I personally like Penns fighting style demeanor and humor so when there is a chance to talk about him I will same that goes with the other fighters I like, I expect people to do the same with the fighters they like and if we like the same ones then cool if not same thing, its all good but I do not feel I have the right to tell others they should not talk about a fighter that they wish to just because i dont like him.

Penn does have a mass load of talent. He took Gsp to a decision, and machida (lhw). He was also beating no dominating Hughes, until his rib separated.

And yea, he's good when he trains, but half the time he doesn't lol. But nowadays he seems to actually want to be a fighter..maybe only for the pulver fight tho :/

I don't hate BJ i actually like BJ Penn but he is probably the most overrated fighter on this forum. BJ isn't unbeatable his BJJ is great but he can't tap everyone in mma on the ground like people on this forum think. his stand up is good but people on this forum seem to think his stand up is top notch which it isn't. Here's the thing about BJ he isn't as good as people think he couldn't easily win the LW title. He can win the LW title but it wouldn't be as simple as him showing up like people make it sound.

For him to win the WW title would take a huge amount of work because right now GSP, Kos, Karo, Diego, Fitch and Hughes have been better in the last few years than BJ.

He will never win the MW title and the people who think he will are dillisional it's a ridclous thought.

Here's a question for the BJ fans who think he is unbeatable Why has he lost 4 times? in 15 fights. Guys like Fedor, and Shogun are 27-1 and 16-2 BJ record is 11-4 it's not that impressive his last 3 wins are against 2 jokes and Renzo Gracie. If BJ is going to win the LW, WW, and MW titles at the same time why has he lost to Jens Pulver, Georges St.Pierre, Matt Hughes, and Lyoto Machida.

I like that picture of BJ and GSP interview after theyre fight where GSP looked like a train wreck and BJ looked like he just strolled off a nice walk in the park. You can look at a persons record and be a hater or a fan of them purely based on that alone. Thats your choice to be a hater. I always loved how some of you call a fan a nuthugger. So what if I like BJ Penn bro? If I like to come to MMA forum and discuss BJ Penn or any other fighter so be it. It is a forum for exactly that purpose. So you go on hating BJ Penn because he gets talked about too much (in your opinion) on this forum. Thats a hell of a reason to hate on somebody bro. Pretty freakin sad IMO. If your gonna be hatin on somebody make it the ones who you call nuthuggers. Its not BJ Penn's fault that people pissed you off by talking about him. With that attitude you might as well paint a big "L" on your forehead. No offense intended I just think you should think about it is all.
