Not enough talent in heavyweight to break it down even more. No use in having a division with just Brock Lesnar and Tim Sylvia in it.

Yes. I've always been all for a Super Heavyweight division. Originally I thought the UFC should go with a Featherweight (145) division first, but now that Zuffa owns WEC which has 135 and 145 divisions it makes more sense that they implement Super Heavyweight. This way WEC isn't really a lesser league to the UFC, they cover different areas. The UFC would have the big heavy guys, while the WEC would have the little guys and they overlap in the middle (like it is now but more pronounced).

If the UFC does institute a SHW division it will most likely be 265 + so The Maine-iac will still be able to fight at HW. If he really tried I bet he could make 250 anyway.

I believe there should be a super heavy weight division. i am a young fighter who finished a career as a college football player while also always being into MMA. i have been training for a long time now(7-1-1) and i would like to know that if down the road i get real good i have a chance to got up to the next level. right now i do not have that ability

They barely have a heavyweight division. I can't even imagine how weak a SH division would be.

Yup. Plus you really lose athleticism the heavier it goes (generally speaking), but you could have guys like Mark Hunt, Sylvia, Lesnar and Antonio Silva who cut down to make 265. Although, fat dudes punching each other in the face is always good.

not all guys are able to get to 265, i am stuck at 316lb, have been for almost 5 years now. when i was in the military i was lean and cut at 281. doctors even say that 260 would be almost unhealthy for me. my genetic profile won't allow me to be under 265 while being strong enought to be competative. i also would like to see a 145 class. the guy i train with is at that wieght area and it has been problematic for him too.
i think they should add both divisions to the card and just see what happens. i think you would see a lot more come out and fight and then a lot of other guys like lesner and silva would fight at the higher class.
