Dana White: EliteXCs Kimbo Slice would get ‘hurt bad’ in the UFC
Quote:
|
“Sean Gannon beat him in a street fight. Everyone saw what happened to Sean Gannon when he fought a guy that no one ever heard of (a decisive TKO loss to Branden Lee Hinkle in the UFC). Gannon was in the hospital for three weeks. That’s what would happen to Kimbo Slice if he fought in the UFC. He would get hurt bad – real bad.”

What Bas has to say about Kimbo
Quote:
|
“I am training Kimbo right now, and I have to say that he is one of the BEST fighters I have EVER trained. He really listens to you and does what you say, do you know how hard that is? If he’s dead tired, and I tell him five more rounds, he looks at me, but doesn’t say anything, he just does it.”

Just because Sean Gannon got hurt doesn't mean Kimbo will.

Kimbo is still a prospect much like Brock Lesnar. Kimbo has some serious power and training with Bas is a great thing for him.
Kimbo would probably lose if he fought top guys in the UFC but he could beat guys that most UFC guys draw in early fights like Branden lee Hinkle

I will be very surprised if we ever see Kmbo in the Octagon, for one he is 37 or 38 and another thing he is a street fighter which is not the image the UFC are going for. Any detractors of th eUFC would jump right on them if they hired Kimbo

He's 33 and in great shape, I don't see a reason for him not to be in the UFC if he is with a legit camp and has kicked streetfighting for good.

Ah he is 33 I was clearly misinformed or made a mistake in my arithmetic. Thanks for the info. Even if he has kicked the street fighting for good other people may use that as a base to bad mouth the UFC.
Im actually surprised more has not been made about the recent roiid suspensions due the the hysteria in the US at the moment

Besides Gannon beat Kimbo cause he started kneeing in a fight when the rules dictated strictly punching. I'm not a Kimbo fan but facts are facts.

I used to think it was pretty much a joke when Kimbo first decided to get into MMA, but he has hooked with Bas and is taking the game seriously. If Bas sees something special in Kimbo, then that is good enough for me...

Actually the rules were no kicking and no groundfighting. If i remember correctly Gannon had kimbo in a standing guillotine and one of kimbos mates dressed like a pimp started to pull him off when there was nothing in the rules about standing submissions. Kimbo also decided to jump on top of Gannon while he was down and try to puch him so like you said rules are rules.
And no I don't ever think we'll see Kimbo in the UFC.
