lol How did I know this thread would pop up?

Silva's not gonna be as dumb as Frank, and would sub the dude quick. Even then, I still think his striking is much better.

If anything, this fight has shown us that Frank's theory is correct -- Cung Le can be KOd. It also showed us that Cung is occassionally open for a knee to the head.

Now, I'm not saying that Le's chin is bad by any means. But clearly, it's not made out of granite. Now I'm sure that we can all agree that Anderson Silva's punches and knees > Frank Shamrock's. If it had been Silva throwing those knees, it would have been a wrap.

Silva is also better at mixing up levels between his strikes. His kicks, though a bit less flashy than Cungs, are more varied. His roundhouse can go low or it can go high. Cung, on the other hand, seems to have a different kick for each height. His round kicks go for the head, his sidekicks go for the body. Against somebody like Anderson, that type of predictability could be dangerous.

Plus, I believe that Silva's footwork would allow him to navigate around Le's sidekick. But damn, that sidekick sure is sweet.

Highly opinionated but out of touch with the current MMA scene.

Because he stuffed so many of Frankies takedowns and prevented him from his obvious goal of avoiding engaging in a standup war lol?

Picking apart and beating Frank Shamrock on points in a pure standup fight, then almost getting KTFO does not make me believe he will do well against Anderson Silva, whose standup is better than Franks anyway.

I used to love Cung, and still enjoy watching the guy immensely, but his fans kill the guy for me.

Did anyone notice that strange noice in the 3rd round, about 16 seconds left? It sounded like a muppet or something, I dunno... Was it the commentators?

I know Frank didnt shoot and they only clinched like twice or something, but Anderon's wrestling isn't that good in my opinion, and i really think Cung would give him a hard time, but yeah he would still lose eventually. I know you hate Cung Le fans but i just hate when everyone counts the guy out immediately. Alls im saying is that hes better than a lot of people think.

I agree. It does seem that a lot of people don't want to give him the credit he deserves.

This is stupid. Everything Cung is good at, Anderson is better. He would not win the striking battle, and Anderson could take him down if he wanted to. I like Cung, but he does not deserve to have his name mentioned in the same sentence as Anderson's.

I've watched them both on alot of occasions. Not to take anything away from Cung Le in his own right. But damn would Silva wipe the mat with Le. No contest.
