Sure there not as bad as a lot of people make them out...but, they can have a LOT of pretty ******* horrible consequences(such as death).

Mostly if they are abused though.
In all the years I've been a board monitor on the underground bodybuilding scene, I have yet to hear about someone dying from it. It's different matter with dnp and diuretics though.

There are a lot more health benefits using(not abusing) these hormones than risks. Mark my words in ten years the will legalise it again in North America because the baby boomers will need it to improve their quality of life.

I'm fairly sure that neither ken nor frank would be the brightest bulb, regardless of who juiced and who didn't, i'm not sure steroid use does anything to the brain, rather, abuse could contribute to 'roid rage or possibly the brain cancer that killed Lyle Alzado, but he could have been predisposed to that anyway for unrelated reasons.

It's an individual choice but how does anyone get over having to poke themselves unless they're used to it, ie diabetic or something? ow

I've actually always thought Frank comes off as pretty intelligent in interviews.

contrary to popular belief Lyle didn't die from cancer, he died of AIDS. back in the 80's it wasn't uncommon for steroid users to re-use the same needles. Which sucks because the pins get dull after one use.

When I read the article it made me want to see the fight even more. So that statement is perfect. It really is trying to make the fight interesting. Like now Ken will be a man possessed in anger at his brother and Frank will be counting his money off of this story that made the fight good. Smart thinking on his part to bring this up or make this up at this point.

Ken Shamrock Replies To Frank's Steroid Claim

"In making such a reckless and irresponsible statement, Frank has attacked my character. As such, I unfortunately find it necessary to respond to his allegations. Iím not sure what his motives were, but Frankís allegations are absolutely false".

In the somewhat surprisingly lucid and level-headed statement, Ken points out that Frankís allegations not only slight him but the industry as a whole, from fighters to promoters. He claims to have never tested positive and mentions the new testing regulations recently instituted in Nevada by the NSAC.

Ken ends the statement with a simple request:

"Frank should acknowledge that his comments were without merit and irresponsible, and apologize for the disparaging remarks he has made towards the fighters, promoters, and to the various athletic commissions who regulate MMA."
