We could put it this way folks:
Some of the PRIDE greats has had a hard time adapting to the UFC. Maybe, psychologically they felt more embraced and hyped up in pride or whatever. Perhaps they NEED a couple of fight before they are UFC adapted.
But some other PRIDE greats, whose skills translated better to the octagon, came, saw & conquered! Nogueira Shooled Herring all of the figth EXEPT the minutes around the headkick. Herring couldn't finish him, accept that and STOP COMPLAINING!. Then he submitted a very game Tim Sylvie (While Xouture couldnt finish a non - game injured Sylvia. He's still great though don't get me wrong).
Rampage killed off Liddell's winning streak and career. Even if Hendo is a Pride guy he was very on against Rampage and IMO he was a bad matchup for him since his wrestling was much more technically sound than Rampage's. (And wrestling, like BJJ is ore about technique and balance/leverage than strength).
Anderson Silva had lost some fights in pride, ruled in CR a little and then came and ruled the UFC MW division for a while.
A good observation is that all of these guys had lost some dissapointing fights/couldn't beat a certain fighter in PRIDE. They actually had MORE success in the UFC than in PRIDE!
Also, look for Nog o win his next few title defenses so y'all can see what a "poor" champion he is.
