Exactly. He went through the WW division like none other. Sure a set back against BJ but he redeemed himself in there re-match. GSP was the better man.

IE-Liddell and Couture. Even though Randy came back and shocked the world.

No he didn't have tv fire in his eyes and he wasnt stalking gap like he usualy does his oponet and unless he gets that fire back he is done for. I still consider him the greatest ww of all time though

I don't he's done but I completely agree with the earlier statements about Hughes' lack of evolution in the sport. He's a great wrestler but a not a good striker and if he can't dominate on the ground he's in deep trouble. The last GSP fight had to screw with his mind some because in their 2nd match GSP just avoided the takedowns and kept it standing to dominate that fight. When Hughes came out lefty in the 3rd match it surprised GSP but he quickly adapted and just killed Hughes on the ground. When Hughes tried to take GSP down not only did GSP avoid it he transitioned it into a dominate position for himself.

certainly, i won't argue that hughes has been an incredible WW fighter for quite sometime. he absolutely deserves his place in the hall of fame. i also don't think he should retire, i think he should round out his skills by studying striking and jiujitsu. however, i do not believe he will ever hold the WW belt again, and i do not think that he is a lock to beat matt serra. serra is far more well rounded than hughes. if he can wrestle serra, then he can win, if he can't, serra takes it.

The greatest ever = Fedor.

The best today = Anderson Silva.
