Nate isnt that great but people like him because he is super tough, fights hard, can submit people at anytime, and most importantly he is winning right now. It isnt really about how you win just that you win and as long as he keeps doing that people will continue to praise him. I personally do not feel that he can beat someone like Kenflo, Huerta, Tyson Griffin, or Tavarres but who knows, We will see when he gets those fights.

you know what we can say what we want about nate
but the kid is one tough SOB
im definately looking to see him in the octagon again......but where im a lil confused is the area where you think that ppl are referring to him as the "second coming"
which makes my wonder......the second coming of what?

The most solid advice I can give to anyone who fights BJ Penn is...do not motivate the guy. Lets face it, BJ although talented, is naturally lazy. Your job is to NOT convince him to step on that treadmill.

I would love to see him fight Sherk. His long limbs would give Sherk fits. And we know his BJJ is awesome. If you can sneak a triangle on Batman you can get one on Sherk. We know Diaz can take punishment too.
Now don't get all carried away (Sherk fans) because I did not say he would beat him. Just that I think he could (hell, I think anyone could beat anyone). |

Guida just KO'd Samy Schiavo who is a good striker and a pretty good fighter. Some of the fights he didn't "finish" were against the best in the division. Huerta's last 4 fights were all against fighters that could beat Diaz. I think anyone in the LW top 10 would kill Diaz right now. |

I would have to agree with you cplmac, right now he is not ready for anyone like Guida or Huerta, not to say he would be completely helpless though

Great point Wise. Was gonna rep you but said I had to spread more. I was gonna say pretty much the same thing. Nate needs to impress me with his stand up a little more. LIke you said he takes way too much punishment IMO. We all know his ground game is ridiculous. We'll see. |
