They arent gonna give Bispling Cote, Bispling may have looked good last night but Cote can take a punch and packs a hell of alot better punch than the count, the UFC seems to be interested in building Bispling up and I dont think he can get through Cote.

Pretty obvious with the Hamill decision, but I can't blame them. They can't protect him forever though. The England demographic will have to learn to like UFC without a big name contending.

Um, Bisping deserved that decision against Hamill, since he won the last 2 rounds.
Bisping vs Cote would be fun, but honestly, Belcher vs Cote would interest me more.
Bisping vs Sakara would be fun. Well, a motivated Sakara.

How did Hamill win the fight, then?
Bisping landed the cleaner strikes in rounds 2 and 3 and got up when Hamill took him down. Hamill was gassed and constantly eating punches.

your argument has interested me to the point of rewatching round 2...which seems to be the deciding round if you give round 3 to bisping, which i wouldn't have, but is understandable to most people....
i'm not sure why your saying 'the cleaner strikes'....after watching the second round, bisping landed a total of 2 jabs that hit hamills head and an inside leg kick that led to a TD by hamill. everything else was hitting the forearms pretty evidently. hamill landed an 2 jabs of his own that round. hamill was also the one "pushing the action" or having "octagon control".....he got 2 solid takeodowns and while he didn't do anything significant with them, neither did bisping. hamill also landed a nice elbow coming out of a clinch with bisping which was probably the best strike thrown in the round.
so lets break down the criteria
effective striking - neither
grappling - hamill by solid margin
octagon control - hamill by solid margin
aggressiveness - neither
boring ass round, but giving that round to bisping is pretty much impossible. rogan and goldberg also note during the round that bisping is letting the rounds "slip away from him".....
10-9 hamill

When Bisping was taken down, he worked off his back and got back up. I don't know if I'd give the grappling aspect to Hamill, since all he did was smother Bisping, while Bisping did work.
I'd still rate those strikes over takedowns that led to nothing. Pressing the action I'll give you that, since Hamill kept coming forward, but it only led to him getting tagged.
I wouldn't put much stock into the commentary. Rogan thought Nick Diaz beat Joe Riggs when it was clear that Riggs beat him, and Goldie doesn't know what the hell is going on in there. People get so swayed by the commentary, like in the Griffin vs ortiz fight.

He's still getting tagged, isn't he?
Also, Hamill needed to move his head, as it looked like those shots hit him rather than his arms. I can see why the judges gave it to Bisping.

it's a 5 minute round.....if i was a judge and saw a guy pushing the pace, having his opponent backing up, and he ate 1 jab/2.5 minutes...i wouldn't put much weight into the striking aspect scoring of the round
