Stereotypical MMA personalities
OK, we could say that there are three styles of fighting: Grappling, Wrestling and Striking. Here are some (SATIRICAL, ladies and gentlemen. I really like 'em all ) stereothypical personalities in MMA:
The Wrestling Jock: This guy is a real bad ass. He will "smash peoples faces in" and knock people out in the first round, "demolish" people etc. He think he's the sh!t because he wrestled in college/high shcool. But let's face it, he's just a schoolyard bully trying to achieve fame by Lay n' Praying and trashtalking. He can't finish a fight for toffee, but who could guess that based on his talking?
Examples: Tito Ortiz, Matt Hughes, Mark Coleman, Brock Lesnar and Josh Koscheck.
The Pacifist Grappler: The pacifist grappler does not want to hurt anyone. In fact, he'd rather take loads of punishment before even throw a half hearted strike. It's like, even if this guy mounts somebody he won't strike at all. This wuss can tap fools, though. But since he's often one of the worlds nicest guy, he wouldn't dream of talking smack about it. He's always talking seemlessly with a brazilian accent, not revealing ANY dislike with ANYTHING at all.
Examples: Big Nog, Demian Maia and Thales Leites.
The Muay Thai Wrecking Machine: This dude is CRAZY! You do NOT want to get involved with this tatoo'd brute. This guy does not fight to win, he just want to deal as much damage to his opponent as possible. This guy is such a sadist that he doesen't even care if his opponent is out cold, he still just wants to land a last hit. He often justifies this outrageous behaviour saying that tis is what the fans want to see. There's something crazy about this guy, he just never seems calm. Like he's going to punch you as soon as you give him the oppurtunity.
Examples: WAND, Aleks. Emelianenko, Takanori Gomi and many, many more.
Feel free to post your steriotypical MMA personalities(preferably depending on fighting styles).

Awesome thread.
I perticularly don't like the wrestling Jock who thinks it's still NCAA and that passing guard 100x will win him the match.
And I also believe that the Muay Thai Wrecking Machine discription you gave is firmly based on Gilbert Yvel.
The pacifist Grappler is so funny because it's so true. They are the nicest guys around and would rather take a vicsious beating than hurt the other guy.

The Jiu-Jitsu Wizard - This fighter's confidence is second to none, as is his cockyness. Believing his fighting style to be dominant above all including air, and religon. His chi is however contrasted by his constant ode to legendary greatness.
Examples - Royce Gracie, B.J. Penn

Love the thread except Aleks is like the absolute opposite of crazy before and after the fight is over. He actually looks depressed or that he wants to be somewhere else haha. Especially that one time when he was picking his nose during a staredown.
But yeah, once the fight starts, everything changes.

Yeah, i mainly thought of Aleks as a destructive tool. Also I think he could be pretty violent in real life

Dang. I've never seen Tito Lay-n-Pray... and Mark brought some SERIOUS pain to folks back in the day. And Hughes not being able to finish a fight? 80% of his fights were TKO or sub.

Again, my friend, SATIRE is not always realistic. Hughes and Tito (prime tito that is) are beasts. But Tito going the distance with Cote and Sinosic, and still talking all thet smack about knocking people's skulls in? bleh. But their dominant personalities makes them wrestling jocks for me
The wrestling jocks' major flaw is not weather or not they fight exitingly. It's that they talk a lot smack, and seldom backs it up. But again, i'm exaggerating for satire's sake
