The "If only" thread
I read a lot of posts on the boards where people make excuses for fighters that lose. We've all seen them and they are pretty much unavoidable after any PPV. Which ones annoy you guys the most and which ones do think are the funniest?
Personally, I've always liked "if only Mirko had trained in a cage he wouldn't have lost to Gonzaga" - cage, ring, Kimbo's boat yard, elbows in the face and a kick in the head would have had the same effect anywhere.
and
"if only Gonzaga didn't break his nose he would have beaten Randy!" - If Randy hadn't punched Gabe in the face repeatedly Gabe probably would have won too. WTF? People break their noses in fights?
So let's post some more.

If BJ hadn't broke his ribs he wouldn't have lost his 2nd match against Hughes----> Hughes was the one who broke the ribs
If Vera hadn't broken his hand he would have beat Sylvia-----> He broke his hand IN the match, learn to strike properly and don't break your hand next time

I know. I didn't say he did. Try to stay on topic.

It was actually confirmed it wasn't a headbutt at all.

If only Rich had a steel nose put in after he lost to Anderson the first time, he'd be Champ again right now!

No. If they had put in him a complete steel face, then maybe.

Lol. I know exactly what you mean. I've got one not about MMA, but about a kid on my high school wrestling team. He had the audacity to say that if he was stronger he would have beat the kid who pinned him.
That's like saying, "If I just had better skills then I would have beat him." Turds crack me up.

If only Lutter hadn't have gassed, he would have beat Franklin and got a rematch against Silva.
If only Lutter hadn't have missed weight and gassed, he would be MW champ.
If only Lutter could - make weight, not gas, AND - train with a top-notch camp, he would beat Fedor.
