I don't have a problem with people being annoyed by it. I am annoyed by it too. He's still my favorite fighter though. And I think it's immature how a lot of people call a fighter a piece of shit, or trash, or "Blow Job", or an ass, blah blah blah....all because of pre-fight HYPE.

People that trash him for it always talk about how that shit is for WWE and whatnot, but at the same time those people trashing BJ are doing the same things the WWE fans are doing and taking the pre-fight hype seriously and getting offended by it. It's hyprocritical, or paradoxally oxymoronic (hehe), or maybe just ironic, I dunno, but it's stupid.

But you know, I do have to admit that Tito's schoolyard insults -- and the way they made Shamrock freak out -- helped move the sport closer to the mainstream.

I don't mind a little trash talk to hype a fight, but BJ proclaims to be this world class martial artist. Martial arts are above all else, about self discipline. To be at the level BJ is at and continue to maintain this "bad boy" persona is contradictory. He's the tiger, who only knows to lash out and attack, while he keeps saying he's the dragon. I think the biggest problem is us, the spectators. We're the ones who encourage this behavior. It's our years of western over saturation and quick fixes. To call an opponent who is on the same level as yourself a bitch etc goes against the teachings of all the great masters. Learning to be a complete martial artist isn't about testing an opponent, its about testing yourself. If you truly are the greatest you have no need to tell anyone.

Yea it's one thing to get all flustered about the pre-fight hype, but to discredit his skills? That's just sheer stupidity. Especially when you can't even spell basic words.

Maybe it's because he lost to Serra, took it like a man, trained his ass off and came back to beat Koscheck, Hughes, Serra and Fitch all in dominating fashion....

Maybe it the way that he stayed in the fight and grinded out a victory over Penn after getting his eye gouged out.

That sounds like some heart to me.

I guess in BJ's eyes you have to lack the drive to train consistently and hide in Hawaii because you're fat and out of shape. Maybe you have to run your mouth all the time and talk about everybody elses lack of heart to have heart.

Oh, and lets not forget feeling like you're entitled to fights and shots at titles that you didn't earn!
